Photos and instructions below show that it's quite easy to make your paper Santa hat party favors any color.

Simply use one of the jewel-like glitters to match your color scheme. If you haven't used glitters for a few years, you'll find that they have changed drastically, and can be used in elegant crafts. My favorite are the jewel-like glitter colors that Martha Stewart carries--a dream to work with.

I made the above rectangular origami  boxes for gifting these pink and lime green set of paper Santa hat Ornaments.

It's easy to make the paper hats match the paper boxes . . .

  • Apply a thin coat of glaze to the sides of the box
  • Sprinkle with the same glitter as is on the middle of the hats
  • Allow the pink glitter to dry completely
  • "Paint" the rim of the box with glaze
  • Sprinkle lime green glitter on the glazed rim to match the brim and top of the hat

Above I have used golden brown colors, with white and red accents for this place setting color scheme. You'll find that ribbons will easily match the many Martha Stewart colors available.

  • Use sparkly ribbon shred inside the box and under the hat
  • Match silver glitter on the outside of box to the silver top of the hat
  • Match the ribbon tied on the outside of the box to the golden brown middle of the hat
  • I used an off-white ribbon for under the party favor (off white looks beautiful with the golden browns)

Above I used silver, red and white as my color scheme. The red table cloth and the red origami box are set off nicely with the white plates.

  • The base of the box is made with jewel-like, thick red paper
  • I accented the rim of the box by glazing the rim and coating it with silver glitter
  • I matched silver ribbon with the silver on the paper Santa hat
  • I made a tiny hat for additional decoration on top of the ribbon

I also used a Christmas ribbon that says "Let it Snow" to lay across the plates. Use any combination of plates, ribbon, table cloth and other decorations to match your Santa Hat favors.

These Santa Hat party favors in origami boxes make for impressive table setting combinations.
