Butterfly art: How to draw butterflies and use them in your creative art projects

This butterfly tutorial has one-dimensional wings which makes it a great place to start!

It doesn't have, the more difficult aspects of foreshortening and working with perspective as the one below.

It can be a great motif design for fiber arts such as embroidery and applique. It can even be used as a design for quilting stitches.

It can also be perfect for using in paper arts for scrapbooking, cardmaking or even wall decorations.

Tutorial Two: Medium Difficulty . . . in-flight with an angled view.

Butterfly art: Draw a butterfly with this easy step by step tutorial.

This flying flower is a bit more complicated than the one in the first tutorial in that it is flying at an angle.

Since it's in-flight, getting the perspective correct involves foreshortening, which is what makes this a more difficult drawing.

However, you can certainly do it, just click here and follow along with this easy step by step tutorial and you will have it down in no time!

Tutorial Three: Easy to Medium Difficulty . . . straight on view while changing the wing's edges and detail.

Tutorial Four: Medium Difficulty . . . straight on view while changing the wing's edges and detail.

These butterfly wings are fairly easy to draw in that they have a straight on view. However the added wing detail and changing the edges makes it a bit more complicated.

The wings can also be used separately for fantasy art to place on fairies, or actually placed on someone in a scrapbooking page!
